Aims to Inspire

After reading a moving post, I have decided that I would rather inspire than impress. The question is...how to go about doing that? My life is so very ordinary that there is little chance of my inspiring anyone on a daily basis. But, that said, my family is always around me. This must be the beginning, a chance to inspire those around me with peace, warmth, and affection. May all who read this be blessed with the blessings of the Lord, the One who has shaped me since before I was born.

Early Morning Thoughts

It seems to be so very strange that we can experience peace in the city when so much is going on around us. Sirens blaring, a school bell, construction workers tearing up the street. It's hard to feel at peace sometimes but at others you can hardly believe that you feel that way. The chaos of our world surely does not contribute to this feeling. When I began writing this, for instance, my train of thought was another direction. Now that I'm actually into it, my feelings have strayed and written something else. Obviously, this something was meant to be, and, as such, I suppose I'll write my other thoughts later on. By then, I might just have a fresh perspective on the topic.

A Phrase A Day

I won't say it will keep the doctor away, but words of wisdom are useful in our everyday lives. No matter whether we are a lawyer, a teacher, a clerk, a construction worker, or even a student, a helpful dose of good sense may give us a boost. Maybe some of us tend to lose sight of the smaller things in life. Perhaps a simple string of words can help bring us back to the present, give us a new perspective. I'd really like to discuss the saying, "A cat in gloves catches no mice." It should be the topic of further discussion for me.

What happened to our world?

Various things (including a ridiculous news article and C.S. Lewis's space trilogy) have gotten me thinking on the state of our planet. What went wrong? Such evilness floods our lives, threatening to devour and overwhelm us. So many evils...abortion...gay marriage...divorce...socialism...twisted men...I can hardly begin. Now I understand what happened, what really went wrong in our world.

It was The Fall.

Our First Parents knew that something would happen when they touched the forbidden fruit. I'm not sure they fully understood the implications but they were far from innocent. If there had been a Ransom to keep Eve from her daring and irrevocably evil deed, we would not have lost Eden. Neither would we have gained anything. He came to settle the score and open a gateway for us. Then, we turned our backs and went whistling down the street. We keep on traipsing farther and farther, and, until we turn around, we shouldn't expect anything to change. The view is still the same and will be until we do something about it.

In the beginning...

This is my first post. The first of many, I hope. If I want it to be inspiring and full of creativity, I'm sure I'll be mistaken. What I write is still my thoughts, though, and something that I hope will be read with amusement, if not enjoyment. Well, without further ado, I welcome you to A Trail of Imagination...
